  • Double-check your travel documents and always keep supplementary copies of your passport details, insurance policy, visas, credit card numbers and traveler's checks with you.
  • Keep mineral water handy. Clean drinking water is not easily available everywhere and the tropical Indian climate may leave you parched and thirsty.
  • Keep some ready cash in your purse, including foreign currency and Indian rupees. It is not easy to find credit or debit card machines in smaller towns. But you must be careful not to keep a large amount with you, as this will only attract attention of unwanted elements.
